Two stage backward roll

What a backward roll looks like from underwater

Here’s some footage of Tony and then Roberto doing backward rolls off our boat, Seahorse, into the water at Shark Alley. The water was very clear but with quite a few particles floating by. A backward roll is the typical way to get in the water off a low boat such as a rubber duck. Our boat was tied off to the shot line, and we each got into the water as we were ready, but usually the skipper will count everyone down and the divers would all roll at once.

Another popular entry technique is the giant stride.
