Applying some light varnish

Preparing a chart table

Tony’s nautical charts are a source of much joy and fascination to both of us, as well as, on occasion, the cats. We’ve been looking for some kind of suitable surface to use to display them and examine them on for ages. I was delighted to locate this old newspaper copy desk – decades old – made of teak, in December last year.

We sanded it using a mouse sander, and applied some light varnish to finish it off. If you visit us, you’ll see it in the corner of the lounge, complete with charts.
